ANOTHER YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE BEGINS

…but let’s make this a different one. It is different now, because you signed onto this blog. The best decision you made so far this year!

Congrats!

But summer is winding down and your present memories of summertime fun and leisure become more and more distant with the frequency of back-to-school commercials, more and more yellow buses driving around, and certainly the dreading thoughts of having to get up before 11am. I’m sure your counting down the days. Depressing right?

Come on…It doesn’t have to be…

High school may not be the actual BEST years of your life. In fact I believe that college would be the best years of your life.

High school is a time for you to grow and mature even more, find girls or boys and discover things and make mistakes that will affect how you live and your futures. But you have to make these kind of decisions the right way. Making the RIGHT decision will definitely benefit you in the future.

Trust me on this. In my experiences thus far, I have realized that my very own abilities and personal experiences are what drives my success.  It will be yours too.

If you take the initiative and turn it into a more positive outlook, then you will be on that journey to definite success…whatever that may be.

As you start school, make sure to keep in mind 3 major areas that you should focus on:

Course work– knowing the types of classes you should take, and being good at it. Take the general course you have to…don’t blow those off. But the fun par is choosing the extra classes you get to take.  The kind in shop, technology, healthcare or business, etc. Go for it and find what you like first, try that class out, then move on.

Social life-People affect our lives in many ways…just find the right people for you and have fun! Your high school years are probably the most affective when it comes to social life and love. You start  discovering things about yourself as a person, and someone growing up and maturing, thus finding your niche when it comes to people with whom you hang out. But, do NOT sacrifice your own beliefs for someone elses

Extracurricular involvement-Don’t do everything…but do something. At least one thing. So much mileage is given when your involved in something other than eating, sleeping and homework. I was involved a little bit in high school. That helped me make close friends. But I never realized how important this type of involvement like sports, theatre, band, math and science…whatever floats your boat…can affect you.

If you like sports and are good at something, why not hang out with those very same people! If you’re a theater buff and love performing…why not hang out with those very same people! Makes sense right?

BE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN…

THAT IS ALL THAT IS EVER EXPECTED OF YOU
