See this?
Spend a few moments on this. Look closely. Study it.
Gaze over the entire picture.
A pile of rocks yes.
All sizes, designs, colors, shapes, styles…everything different and unique. Seeing them individually might not draw as much attraction as it would see them all together. Unique in its own way, but a beautiful vision of achievement.
That’s you and me, and everyone else. We are all different in our own ways, skills, talents, personalities. Personally different. And when we come together, we certainly achieve more.
What’s important to you?
What matters in your life right now?
Is your career, job or future professional life any part of that? It should be. You contribute something different from many others. That’s what makes everything go ’round.
Don’t ever feel like your not good enough for college, or for a change in careers. Don’t fear the time commitment away from your family, work, social life. Or the adjustment of college, course work, schedule and just basically “keeping up.” It is a challenge to attend college and get a degree and advance the skills you already have.
It’s also a challenge to actually make the decision of going to college. Many of you know that you’re about to attend college, or have plans and need help. But there are some of you I’d say that have what I consider the “addiction” syndrome. Addiction is certainly nothing to joke about, but like all addicts going through treatment, one of the steps is to admit. I think for many of you, making the decision to go to college is like admitting to their addiction. 🙂 Weird right? But a good visual here.
You must admit to the fact that more college, or college for te first time. attaining that degree or education to further the skills and talents you already have, is the best thing for you. You will be professionally and financially successful because of that decision.
