My Mom has passion. Passion for her boys. Five of them, to be exact. Ada Lipke was born to breed, nurture, love, protect, hold, and love some more…the 5 sons she gave birth to and with whom to dedicate her life and love.

And she has, for my whole life that I can see. She has always been there. Never complained (much…I mean there are 5 boys in one family, so there is bound to be issues.) about her life and all that she had to sacrifice for what she truly believed in and felt passionate about.

She couldn’t imagine doing anything else besides taking care of her husband and family. Every day. She awoke with us in mind and went to bed for the very same thoughts. Mom would turn down a million dollar offer in exchange for her love for us.

That takes some passion. Doesn’t it?

The word passion, according to www.dictionary.com, a noun is derived from the following various definitions.

1.  any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate.

2.  strong amorous feeling or desire; love; ardor.

3.  strong sexual desire; lust.

4.  an instance or experience of strong love or sexual desire.

5.  a person toward whom one feels strong love or sexual desire.

6.  a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything: a passion for music.

7.  the object of such a fondness or desire: Accuracy became a passion with him.

8.  an outburst of strong emotion or feeling: He suddenly broke into a passion of bitter words.

What makes you feel good? Too many times I hear about and from people who hate their job so much they wake up early in the morning dreading that they have to go to work. Don’t be that way. Find 2-3 career choices, then get a degree to provide you the backing, comfort and assurance to know that your future has a core.

Think about something in your life now that you just absolutely love to do! This something could be your bf or gf. your bff or gff…lol. Focus on something of productive value. Think about something that you can’t imagine doing something else, or giving this up.

Let’s say somebody knocks on your door and asks you to exchange that thing that your so passionate about for $10 million. Would you do it? If not, that is passion.

Can you steer that kind of energy toward your CAREER?

Focus on what you really like to do in life that you can get paid for. Your passion for your job may never be fully fulfilled, but you deserve to find that very best you can in a job. You will most likely not find the perfect job. Or it’ll take a few to several years to finally reach that pinnacle, or climax in your career…if it happens. Just know that it’ll be fun taking those steps to that point. Also know that the more you do the longer it takes, the more experience gain and better person you will be professionally when you do achieve that status that career you find passion.

A job is a set of duties and responsibilities you do to get paid. A career is a lifelong commitment. Like getting married (maybe??), or having children. It is there to last through your professional lifetime.

There are millions of us who can’t imagine doing any other job, for the time being.

That can be you. If you can invest 30 minutes of your own personal reflection time and think about your likes, skills and talents and your own personality, I’ll bet you find some really well-suited future jobs that would wake you up LOVING what you do!
