Yesterday I was taking Angel for a walk through my apartment complex. I noticed as I passed by a few of the larger trees, a group of leaves starting to gather together on the ground underneath.  Dang, that really sucks, knowing that just around the corner comes winter and cold and ice and salt and ,and, and uggh.

But what got me thinking was this gathering of leaves.

WHEN I THINK ABOUT AUTUMN LEAVES, I THINK COLOR AND VARIETY.

 NOT ONE LEAF IS THE SAME. THEY MAY START THE SAME, BUT BY THE TIME IT

HAS LIVED ITS LIFE FULLY…AS IT SPREADS ITS WINGS TO FLY UPON THE TREE IN WHICH IT GREW, AND FALLS EVER SO SOMBERLY TO THE GROUND IN A FIGHT WITH CHANGING WEATHER.

WHAT IS SIMILAR TO THE LIFE CYCLE OF A LEAF? 

OUR LIFE CYCLE…ISN’T IT?

I MEAN, WE DON’T HANG FROM TREES, OR FLY ABOUT IN THE AIR, BUT WE DO BECOME OLD, WITHERED AND CRUNCHY. 

THE AUTUMN LEAVES ARE SO MUCH LIKE YOUR LIFE.

WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT, EVEN THOUGH WE STARTED THE SAME AND CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH (if you will), IT’S THE EVENTS IN OUR LIVES, THE PEOPLE THAT WE TOUCH, AND ARE TOUCHED BY, CIRCUMSTANCES WE ENCOUNTER…WHATEVER IT IS ALL SHAPE AND RESHAPE OUR LIVES FROM DAY ONE.

 WHAT’S GREAT IS THAT WE HAVE THE UNDENIABLE RIGHT TO MAKE AN EFFECT ON THAT CHANGE. AND LIVE LIFE INT EH MOST POSITIVE MANNER WE CAN.

YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHETHER YOU LIVE EACH DAY IN A POSITIVE LIGHT, OR A NEGATIVE ONE.

 LIKE A LEAF…LIFE WITHERS US…

CHANGES US…

GROWS US…

KNOCKS US DOWN…

BUT AND WE MOVE ON.

BUT ALWAYS KNOW THAT YOU AS INDIVDUALS WE ARE LIKE AUTUMN LEAVES.

DIFFERENT, COLORFUL AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE BLANKET OF AMERICA AND WHO WE ARE AS A COMMUNITY AND AS FREE PEOPLE UNDER GOD.
